Foundation “Ingraft”

“Ingraft” is a foundation committed to working towards social and intercultural inclusion as well as focusing on neurodiversity in designing experiences and creating socially responsible spaces.

We are inspired by people’s diversity – biological, lingual and cultural. Sourcing from the knowledge about people we have – we are showing new models of education, experience and space design with the use of technology and art.

The foundation implements intercultural research and educational projects, conducts a business including training sessions and publications.

What do we do?

We are inspired by cultural anthropology and art in research on the diversity of communication.

We help in understanding the differences in perception, understanding and communication resulting from the capabilities and limitations of the human body. We show how to design using available knowledge, good practices and user opinions.

What can we
do together?

We are focused on cooperation with the creative and business sectors, businesses and cultural institutions, and our goal is to disseminate knowledge and implement proven solutions for people with diverse communication needs.

We educate on the differences in styles of communicating and designing visual communication signage.

We develop the first programme in Poland focused on Deaf Art and Culture in the world and intangible heritage of sign language for interpreters, teachers and sign language lectors.

We educate teachers in regards to working with groups with various ways of communication

We collaborate with designers and new media creators within the scope of available narration and social inclusion.

We train employees in neurodiversity and intercultural communication including sign languages.

We popularise knowledge on different models of language development.

We familiarise with neurodiversity in public spaces, education and business

About Us

We work in a linguistically diverse team of hearing, deaf and hard of hearing people. On a daily basis, we use Polish, Polish Sign Language, English and the International Sign language and sign system. We are inspired by the culture of sound and image, history and the present. We are researchers, artists, activists and educators – people related to art, involved in the issues of communication. Our common goal is to work to shape educational experiences and socially responsible spaces in terms of language accessibility.

Michał Justycki

Vice-president of the foundation, coordinator of international cooperation with the Deaf community, art historian, painter and graphic artist, educator. At the foundation, she studies art and history of the Deaf, contacts with Deaf people in sign languages. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice where he was awarded the PhD degree in Arts in 2023. He also finished postgraduate studies in art history at the University of Silesia, co-founder of the Group of Deaf Artists.

Dagmara Stanosz

President of the foundation, cultural anthropologist and art historian, educator and project manager, author of publications in the field of cultural studies. For several years associated with the area of accessibility and education in museums. At the foundation, he coordinates research, programming and publishing activities, and scientifically deals with the issues of inclusive design, anthropology of communication and art. She studied ethnology and history of art at the University of Silesia, editing at the Jagiellonian University, currently a PhD student at the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia.

Kinga Hołda – Justycka

Member of the board, in the foundation she deals with communication in polish sign language and International Sign, artist-photographer, educator, actress, also deals with graphics and film. At the foundation, he records films in sign languages, conducts educational and artistic activities. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Photography at the Warsaw School of Photography and Design Graphics in Warsaw.

Magdalena Cież

Treasurer, board member, historian, love travelling, enjoying good food and Australia. She developed her experience in the field of cultural communication at the Queensland Museum and St William’s Outside School Hours Care in Brisbane, Australia. At the foundation, she deals with English-language translations, cultural communication in international projects and documentation. She is a graduate of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of History, majoring in Teaching as well as Management and Marketing studied overseas.

Klaudia WysiadLecka

Board member, graphic designer, author of artistic animations and interdisciplinary projects, including projects for children. He designs books, visual texts and animations on the subject of language exclusion. At the foundation, he deals with visual communication and graphic design. Her works are appreciated at animation festivals. She is a final year student at the Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.

Anna Harazmus

Member of the board, passionate about photography, coordinates training activities and organization of the secretariat’s work at the foundation. She is a graduate of studies in the field of protection of cultural property and cultural heritage management at the International Cultural Center in Krakow.

Karolina ROGOWSKA

Certified interpreter of Polish Sign Language. He permanently cooperates with the foundation in the field of simultaneous translation, text adaptation, accessibility activities. She cooperated as a translator with the Society for Helping the Deaf-blind and the Silesian Foundation for Helping the Deaf-blind. Currently, she translates in various institutions, including the Silesian Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Katowice City of Gardens, the “Koszutka” Municipal Cultural Center and many others. She also teaches the basics of sign language at medical faculties in post-secondary schools and various institutions. Jan Długosz in Częstochowa.
